St Olympia Orthodox Church - Week of 12 1 2024

Dear Faithful,

Blessed Leavetaking of the Entrance of the Theotokos!

Attached is the bulletin (thank you, Peggy) along with our liturgical calendar for the month of December.

Like the Gadarene demoniac healed by Christ, we too are instructed by the Lord to "return home and tell how much God has done [for us]." As we join friends and family for Thanksgiving, may we seize the opportunity to verbalize all the good that God has done for us in our lives and through St. Olympia's. I can't think of a more organic form of evangelism.

Life in the Church is a continual thanksgiving. The word "Eucharist" (another name for the Divine Liturgy) comes from the Greek word for "Thanksgiving." I am thankful for each and every one of you, for our growing mission, and for the ability to freely worship God in Spirit and in Truth in such a beautiful space.

Please see the bulletin for our upcoming services and events. All are welcome to join us this Thursday morning at 8am for the celebration of the Holy Eucharist. Happy Thanksgiving!

Your servant in Christ,
Fr. Gregory
